New Start Date

In an email received today from TSS, I learned that staff of the Learning Resource Center (LRC), i.e., library, and the Academic Support Center - headed by someone else from UAEU! - are needed onboard TSS before the rest of the onboard staff. Are we important or what? We are requested to be there a day earlier, 29 August. I emailed that it would be no problem for me! (What? An extra day in Athens? Yes!) I'd already booked a flight from Columbia (SC) to Athens which happens to arrive there on the 29th - how's that for foresight?

We've also been informed that some optional 1-, 2- and 3-day tours of Athens will be available for purchase. I definitely want to take advantage of that, especially since I've never been there but have always wanted to go. I'd also like to see Delphi, Corinth, . . .

The question now is whether the tours will take place before or after the 29th. I've emailed that question and hope to have an answer soon. It's kind of disorienting that although it is the weekend here, Friday, it is a regular work day in the States, but it also means that I might get an answer to that email today!
